Museum Continues Tradition of Longer Hours During Baseball Season

Baltimore, MD – Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards today announced that it will extend its operating hours, beginning on Wednesday, April 1, 2009.  As the attraction does each year at the start of the baseball season, the Museum will offer extended hours through September.  

The new schedule for Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards, the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum and each location’s respective store is as follows:
 
Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum
•    April - September:  Daily: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
* Note:  7:00 p.m. on baseball game days

Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards
•    April - September:  Daily: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
* Note:  7:00 p.m. on baseball game days

Museum Stores
•    Sports Legends Museum:  Daily: 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
* Note: subject to change on non-game days
•    Babe Ruth Birthplace:  Daily: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
* Note: 7:00 p.m. on baseball game days

“We look forward to an energetic summer as the Orioles begin their season in less than a week,” said Mike Gibbons, executive director of the Babe Ruth Museum, operators of the Sports Legends Museum.  “We wanted to allow fans ample opportunity to visit our extensive Orioles’ gallery in Sports Legends Museum before they head to Camden Yards to watch the Orioles play.”

The Babe Ruth Museum operates both Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards and the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum. Since opening in 1974, the Birthplace has served as a monument to the life and times of Ruth.  Located adjacent to Oriole Park, Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards opened in May 2005 and consists of 22,000 square feet of artifacts and interactive exhibits profiling Maryland’s sports history, including an extensive gallery dedicated to the Baltimore Orioles that profiles the organization from the 1890’s to the current team.
