Kimmie Meissner will share her experiences from the Olympic Games at Sports Legends Museum on February 27th
Baltimore, MD – Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards today announced that it will host a program with Olympic figure skater, Kimmie Meissner, on Saturday, February 27th at 1:00 p.m. The program, entitled “Olympic Experiences with Kimmie Meissner” is for people to gain deeper insight into the Olympic experience as Kimmie Meissner recounts memories of her participation in the 2006 Olympics and her preparation to get to those games in Torino, Italy.
“Kimmie Meissner is one of our state’s all time champions and her perspective on Olympic competition is certainly worth a trip to Sports Legends Museum,” stated the Museum’s Executive Director Mike Gibbons.
The event is part of the Museum’s “Treasures From Our Attic” program series. The Museum opened the exhibit in late December and among the items displayed is Meissner’s World Championship medal from the Olympic Games in 2006.
Formerly of Bel Air, Maryland, Meissner’s figure skating accomplishments include titles as the 2006 World Champion, 2007 U.S. National Champion and the 2007 Four Continents Champion. She is the first American and the first lady to simultaneously hold the World, Four Continents and National titles. She was a member of the 2006 Olympic team and was the youngest American athlete to compete at those Games. She finished sixth at the Olympics in February 2006 and won the World Championships the following month.
Program is free with standard museum admission
